I was doing great for a while catching up but life got busy and hard so I'm going to do my best to at least be done with 2014 by the end of the month. I don't think that is too high a bar, do you?
Christmas was nice. It feels like ages ago so I'm going to do my best to remember some of the thoughts and feelings I had that season. I do remember that it was better than last year. I was a little more excited about it. I remember that in the past Christmas had always felt a little surreal. I decided that it's because we are always remembering Christmas and memories are usually nice and warm and fuzzy. Reality is rarely so warm and fuzzy so the actual experience in the moment never quite matches up with our memories of Christmas. This year I think reality came pretty close to matching my memories. Christmas was really nice.
Hear they are waiting to go downstairs to see what Santa brought. This was the best picture.
Or maybe this one is. It was a tough choice. I completely forgot to get their pajamas this year and found myself at Wal-mart on the day before Christmas Eve. I think I did okay considering. I will do my best to avoid that next time.
It's hard to tell but Nathaniel is really excited about his new movie editing software.
Brigham liked his new bike and had to open the rest of his presents while sitting on it.
Jonathan was really excited about his presents too.
Then we went upstairs to open presents from each other.
Jonathan gave his friend a light up Minecraft torch for his birthday a while back and has wanted one for himself every since. He loved it.
Nathaniel was happy to see the next book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
Brigham got a coloring book and some crayons from his school teacher.
The best part was our family gift. A Wii U! Finally we are with the times. Jaaromy and I worked hard to find one that came with Mario Kart 8. It was in high demand but we managed to find one online, buy it, and then pick it up at the store. We were going to get the game regardless but I figured it would be nice to not have to pay for the game separately.
Knowing what the family gift would be, Grandma Bonnie gave us a Disney Infinity starter pack.
It was a nice, relaxing morning.
Brigham loved his "I'm Dirty" dvd and watched it while he ate his stocking snacks.
Jonathan got a cool Lego Empire State Building.
We went to my parents' house for breakfast and Jaaromy's parents' house for dinner. It was a very nice Christmas.
