Christmas Scooters

Nathaniel and Jonathan each got a scooter from Grandma Bonnie for Christmas. This was my idea. I was hoping that it would be a good, simple way for them to learn balance so that, ideally, riding a bike would be easier.


So, on the day after Christmas I suggested they go outside to ride them. Jonathan was happy to try it out. Nathaniel was less so. I sort of had to force him to come out and give it a try for a specific amount of time. He took his time getting dressed and ready so that by the time he came out, Jonathan was already getting the hang of it.


This was frustrating for Nathaniel. He kept saying that Jonathan was better at it than he was and I told him that it was because he had been practicing longer.


He toughed it out and rode his scooter for as long as I made him.


Jonathan was nice enough to keep riding with Nathaniel even though he had already been out riding for a while.

We'll have to keep trying, I'm sure it will get easier as it gets warmer too.
